Strada 16v Turbo Suspension fine tuning
For comfort and handling reasons I needed to change the set up of the front suspension on the Turbo 16 valve Strada. I was not entirely happy with the camber settings after the rebuild and I wanted more comfort
I had a 2 sets of springs made for this car a while back - the set I had been using were more hardcore track use which were lowered by 25mm while the second set were uprated 130TC Abarth spec, lowered only by 15mm.
I decided to fit the more comfortable front springs, set the damping rate on the Koni's to minimum and adjust the camber settings. The camber is adjusted via the top mounting hole on the damper which is slotted. After the overhaul the camber was set wrong on one side which introduced torque steer. Both sides were check and reset to roughly 3° -ve.
I can report back that torque steer is all but gone and the ride is much improved. Further developments will now centre on softening the rear damping and changing the spring to a softer Abarth spring for more comfort.
The below pictures show a close up of the big brakes, these use front discs which are 285mm in diameter.
