Ignition and Manifolds sorted on the 124 Spider Turbo engine
With the engine in place and the RHD conversion complete attention has been turned to getting the engine running. As you will already know this engine uses an older style big valve head on a later style turbo block so that the stock factory manifolds can be used. The manifolds you see above are both original Lancia Delta Integrale equipment.
Note that the standard Lancia Delta Integrale manifold will hit the camwheel. The above picture shows and easy fix for this which is to cut the mounting flang just before it enters the plenium and extend it down and away from the camwheel using a piece alloy pipe.
The plan of using the Lancia Integrale manifold has clearly paid off. The extra clearance this gives to the inner wing makes for neat mounting of the EDIS coil pack, EDIS ignition module, adjustable fuel regulator and fuel filter.
